Nii Lantey Vanderpuye Steps Down as DRIP Coordinator to Seek NDC National Executive Role
Former Odododiodio MP, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has resigned from his position as National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme to pursue a National Executive position within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement announcing his decision, Vanderpuye said he had carefully considered the move and believes it will allow him to continue serving both the party and the country in a different capacity.
He described his tenure as National Coordinator as a privilege and expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the programme.
According to him, serving in the role enabled him to support efforts aimed at improving local road infrastructure and enhancing development across various districts in the country.
Vanderpuye said his resignation paves the way for him to contest for a position within the NDC’s national leadership structure, where he hopes to continue contributing to the party’s growth and democratic development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the vision and agenda of President Mahama’s administration and pledged to remain dedicated to supporting the government’s objectives.
The former coordinator described his time at DRIP as both impactful and rewarding, noting that he leaves office with a sense of fulfilment over the progress achieved under the programme.
He also expressed confidence in the future of the District Road Improvement Programme and its ability to continue supporting road maintenance and infrastructure development at the local level.
The District Road Improvement Programme was established to strengthen road maintenance efforts and improve infrastructure delivery across Ghana’s districts through the provision of equipment and resources to local assemblies.
