Trump Accuses Pope Leo XIV of Political Bias, Calls Him “Weak on Crime”

Donald Trump has criticised Pope Leo XIV, accusing him of political bias and describing him as “weak on crime” in a strongly worded social media post.

In a message shared on the social platform X, Trump argued that the pontiff’s remarks reflect fear of his administration, while questioning the Church’s response during the COVID-19 period.

He claimed that religious institutions faced restrictions during the pandemic and suggested that those concerns were not adequately addressed in the Pope’s comments.

Trump also took aim at the Pope’s views on international security and foreign policy, particularly referencing nuclear issues and U.S. diplomatic decisions. He argued that he disagreed with what he described as the pontiff’s stance on global matters.

The former president further accused the Pope of leaning toward left-wing political positions and questioned the circumstances surrounding his leadership selection.

Trump also referenced the Pope’s brother, Louis, suggesting he aligned more closely with his political movement.
