Arsenal are 2025/26 EPL champions after Man City draw at Bournemouth
Arsenal have finally ended their 22-year Premier League title drought after rivals Manchester City were held to a draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.
The result leaves Mikel Arteta’s side four points clear heading into the final round of fixtures on Sunday, with the Gunners set to lift the trophy at Selhurst Park after their clash with Crystal Palace.
The build-up to the game had been dominated by dramatic reports that City manager Pep Guardiola is set to leave his role at the end of the season. Speaking before kick-off, Guardiola dismissed the speculation, insisting it had “absolutely zero” impact on preparations. But his side struggled, outplayed and outfought by the in-form Cherries, who have extended their unbeaten run to 17 matches.
Bournemouth’s breakthrough came six minutes before half-time when teenage sensation Junior Kroupi curled in a superb finish. After the restart, goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic produced a crucial stop to deny Nico O’Reilly.
Although Erling Haaland snatched a late equaliser, Bournemouth held firm to secure a famous result.
Manager Andoni Iraola, who has announced he will leave at the end of the campaign, signed off in style by guiding the club to European football for the first time in their history.
