NPP establishes 30 committees to strengthen party operations
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the formation of its Standing and Sector Committees following approval by the party’s National Executive Committee and National Council.
The decision was reached during a meeting held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in accordance with provisions of the party’s constitution.
In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and issued from the party headquarters in Accra, the NPP explained that the Standing Committees were constituted under Article 10(2)(6), while the Sector Committees were formed under Articles 10(3)(8) and 14(5) of the constitution.
According to the party, a total of seven Standing Committees and 23 Sector Committees have been created to improve coordination, strengthen governance structures, and enhance operational efficiency within the party.
The NPP stated that the move is aimed at supporting its organisational activities and ensuring more effective management of internal affairs.
Among the committees announced is the Finance Committee, which will be responsible for overseeing financial management and mobilising resources for the party.
The committee will be chaired by Fred Oware, with Charles Dwamena serving as Secretary. Other members include Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Abena Osei Asare, and several other party officials and members.
