GRIDCo names Frank Asirifi Otchere as new CEO
Ghana Grid Company Limited has announced the appointment of Ing. Frank Asirifi Otchere as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8, 2026.
The appointments were contained in a circular signed by the Board Chairlady, Kuukua Maurice Ankrah.
The statement also confirmed the appointment of Ing. Samuel Nkansah as Deputy Chief Executive responsible for Finance and Resources, while Ing. Samed Abdul Ibrahim, currently Director of the Project Implementation Unit, has been named Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations.
Ing. Otchere now takes over leadership of GRIDCo, the state-owned company responsible for electricity transmission across Ghana and within the West African power pool.
The company called on staff to offer their full cooperation and support to the newly appointed management team as they assume their responsibilities.
The leadership changes come at a time when GRIDCo is intensifying efforts to improve operational efficiency and strengthen stability within the national power transmission system following recent challenges in the energy sector.
The company recently experienced a major disruption after a fire outbreak at the Akosombo switchyard control room affected electricity transmission and generation operations in several parts of the country.
