President Mahama attends innovation and development forum in Libreville
President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Libreville to participate in the maiden International Forum for Innovation and Development, a high-level event focused on advancing growth, technology, and investment across Africa.
The forum brings together Heads of State, policymakers, investors, and technology experts to explore how innovation can drive economic transformation on the continent.
Hosted under the patronage of Gabon’s President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the event is themed “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
Organisers say the gathering aims to position Gabon as a hub for innovation and an attractive destination for global investment. It also marks the official opening of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, which will serve as a venue for future international events.
The forum is expected to conclude with the adoption of the “Libreville Declaration,” outlining commitments by leaders to enhance governance, boost transparency, and accelerate digital integration across Africa.
President Mahama’s participation forms part of his broader effort to strengthen collaboration between governments and the private sector to promote inclusive development.
According to a statement from the Presidency, he continues to champion partnerships that align public policy with private-sector growth, as leaders and stakeholders use the forum to exchange ideas and identify practical steps toward building resilient, technology-driven economies.
