Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has been elected as the 2nd Deputy President of the Pan-African Parliament following a decisive vote held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She secured a commanding victory with 131 votes against 51, marking a significant milestone in her political career. The position is comparable to that of a Second Deputy Speaker within the continental legislative body.
With this achievement, she becomes the first woman to represent the West African Caucus in that role in the history of the Pan-African Parliament, setting a new precedent for female leadership within the institution.
