Asantehene urges Mahama to champion a new political culture

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called on John Dramani Mahama and Ghana’s political leadership to lead efforts toward a renewed political culture grounded in tolerance, discipline, and respect for the rule of law.

He encouraged a shift away from confrontational politics and personal attacks, advocating instead for a system built on truth, mutual respect, and zero tolerance for insults.

According to the Asantehene, Ghana’s democratic growth depends on a more responsible and development-oriented political environment. He stressed the need for national conversations to focus on the collective interest and for leadership to remain committed to advancing the country’s development agenda.

He also highlighted that lasting peace is closely linked to good governance, strict adherence to the rule of law, and the development of a strong and resilient economy.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II further called for a new approach to relations between the state and the business community, noting that effective governance is closely tied to business success, which serves as a key indicator of national prosperity.
