Resilient Samartex Earn Hard-Fought Draw Against Aduana in Dormaa

FC Samartex 1996 delivered a determined defensive display to secure a goalless draw against second-placed Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa, despite finishing the match with ten players.

Aduana FC entered the fixture eager to claim their first-ever victory over the Timber Giants and close the gap at the top of the Ghana Premier League. With confidence high after last weekend’s away win over Swedru All Blacks, the Fire Boys were expected to dominate on home turf.

But Samartex frustrated them from start to finish. The visitors held their shape, restricted Aduana’s attacking flow, and remained composed throughout the match. Their task grew tougher in the 75th minute when Awuah Dramani received a red card, leaving them a man down for the final quarter of the game.

Coach Cioba Aristica’s side pushed aggressively for a late breakthrough, creating several half-chances, but the Samartex backline stayed organised and resolute to keep the hosts at bay.

The draw marked a missed opportunity for Aduana, who could have reduced the gap on league leaders Medeama SC after Medeama suffered a 2–1 loss to Nations FC on Saturday.

Aduana remain second on the table, eight points behind the leaders, while Samartex leave Dormaa with a hard-earned point and renewed confidence after another strong performance against a top-tier opponent.
