Thomas Partey Hit with Two Additional Rape Charges, Court Appearance Set for March
Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape in the UK and is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13.
Ghana international Thomas Partey has reportedly been charged with two additional counts of rape in the United Kingdom as ongoing legal proceedings against him continue.
According to UK prosecutors, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised the new charges, bringing the total number of allegations against the 32-year-old midfielder higher. He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 in relation to the new counts, UK media outlet The Telegraph reports.
Partey is already due to stand trial in November after pleading not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The alleged incidents are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022, during his time as a first-team player at Arsenal.
He entered not-guilty pleas at Southwark Crown Court in September last year. The initial charges were brought shortly after his contract with the north London club expired in June.
Currently playing in Spain for Villarreal, Partey remains on bail. His bail conditions reportedly permit him to continue his professional football career but require him to notify police in advance of any international travel and prohibit contact with the complainants.
Despite the legal case, Partey continues to represent Ghana’s national team, which is preparing for upcoming international fixtures, including participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The case remains before the UK courts.
