NDC Sets December 19, 2026 for National Delegates Conference to Elect New Leaders

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced December 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference to elect new national executives ahead of the 2028 general elections.

General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey disclosed the timelines at a press conference on Thursday, outlining a bottom-to-top electoral process that begins at the branch level and climaxes at the national stage.

According to him, nominations for national executive positions will be filed between Saturday, November 7 and Monday, November 9, 2026, followed by vetting of aspirants on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2026.

Appeals for disqualified aspirants will be heard on Sunday, November 15 and Monday, November 16, 2026.

Mr. Kwetey also announced that the Youth and Women’s Conferences will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, a week ahead of the main national congress.

He described the exercise as a vital part of the NDC’s broader strategy to reorganise, strengthen its internal structures, and prepare for the 2028 presidential and parliamentary contests.

“So that completes the very important edifice that is supposed to prepare us for the next round of fighting for power in the country and ensure we continue the good job we are doing,” he said.
