NDC Aspirant Steps Down, Endorses Hajia Amina Adam for Ayawaso East Seat

Abdul Salam Daaru, a candidate in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary for Ayawaso East, has withdrawn from the race and pledged his support to Hajia Amina Adam, widow of the late MP Mahama Naser Toure.

Daaru was among six aspirants who collected nomination forms on Saturday, January 24. He said his decision to step aside followed consultations with party leadership and was influenced by Hajia Amina Adam’s dedication to youth empowerment.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, January 27, Daaru confirmed that he would actively campaign for Hajia Amina Adam as the party prepares for its primary.

On the same day, Hajia Amina Adam officially filed her nomination to contest the NDC parliamentary ticket for Ayawaso East. She will compete against four other aspirants, including Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed.
