MTN Ghana introduces new MoMo-to-bank transfer charges from June 1
MTN Ghana has announced the introduction of new transaction charges on transfers from Mobile Money (MoMo) wallets to bank accounts, effective June 1, 2026.
In a message sent to customers on Monday, the telecom company stated that all MoMo-to-bank transfers will attract a fee of 0.75 percent per transaction, with a maximum charge capped at GH¢5.
According to MTN, the adjustment is intended to support improvements in service delivery for customers.
The development is expected to spark discussions among users, particularly individuals and businesses that depend heavily on MoMo services for daily transactions, salary transfers, and banking activities.
Under the new pricing structure, customers transferring funds from their MoMo wallets into bank accounts will pay a percentage-based fee, although deductions on a single transaction will not exceed GH¢5.
