MobileMoney Fintech CEO Urges Customers to Report Agents Charging for Deposits

The Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Fintech Limited, Shaibu Haruna, has called on customers to report any mobile money agents who demand fees for deposits into personal wallets.

According to him, depositing money into mobile wallets should be free of charge, yet the company continues to receive complaints about some agents ignoring this policy. He said the situation raises concerns about adherence to operational guidelines within the mobile money system.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Monday, April 20, Haruna confirmed that the company is aware of the issue and encouraged customers to report such incidents promptly so appropriate action can be taken.

He explained that MobileMoney Fintech has dedicated field sales agents responsible for addressing complaints and ensuring compliance. Haruna also assured customers that the company has mechanisms to investigate reports and sanction agents who violate the rules, emphasizing that these measures are aimed at preserving trust and discipline within the mobile money ecosystem.
