IGP Yohuno Promotes 17 Officers Over Major Drug and Arms Seizures

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 17 police officers in recognition of their exceptional professionalism and dedication to duty.

According to a statement shared by the Ghana Police Service on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, January 28, the officers were elevated for their pivotal role in major security operations leading to significant drug and arms seizures.

The operations resulted in the interception of 10 wrapped slabs of cocaine, valued at approximately GH¢1,032,650.00, along with several sacks of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Ho in the Volta Region.

In a separate operation during a routine patrol at Jacobu, the officers also recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action shotgun, and eight rounds of live AAA ammunition.

The IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the officers on their promotions and praised them for upholding the core values of the Ghana Police Service, including discipline, courage, and professionalism.

Mr Yohuno urged the promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged all personnel to continue working diligently. He reaffirmed that excellence, integrity, and dedication remain the key criteria for recognition and advancement within the Service.
