Try Ofori-Atta in Absentia If You Have Evidence – Kodua Dares NDC

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to proceed with legal action against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in his absence if they believe he has committed any offences.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Kodua accused the opposition party of turning Ofori-Atta’s absence from the country into a political issue rather than following lawful processes.

He pointed out that the NPP previously prosecuted Sedina Tamakloe in absentia, arguing that the NDC could do the same if it truly had credible evidence.

According to him, making public allegations without filing charges amounts to political propaganda and does little to address Ghana’s real challenges.

Mr Kodua added that the former Finance Minister has become a constant reference point in NDC political messaging, with the party blaming him for issues ranging from rising utility bills to unemployment.

He criticised the opposition for personalising national concerns instead of engaging in meaningful policy discussions.

The NPP General Secretary insisted that the courts remain the proper avenue for resolving any alleged wrongdoing.

“If there is a case, they should prosecute it,” he stressed, urging respect for due process over political theatrics.
