‘I’ll Work Day and Night to Return NPP to Power in 2028’ — Bawumia
NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has vowed to work tirelessly to lead the party back to power in the 2028 elections, stressing unity and voter mobilisation as key to victory.
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his determination to lead the party back to government in the 2028 general elections.
He made the pledge on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, when a group of party delegates visited his private residence to express their support and confidence in his leadership.
Addressing them, Dr Bawumia said their actions had strengthened the party’s position and reshaped the political narrative ahead of the next election cycle.
“You have safeguarded the party through your actions. The narrative that was used against us will not work in 2028; instead, it will energise us,” he stated.
He assured party members that he would devote himself fully to securing victory in the next polls.
“Because you have reposed your confidence in me, I am committed to working at all times to ensure that we regain power in 2028. I will work tirelessly, day and night, to return the NPP to government,” he emphasised.
The former Vice President underscored the importance of party unity, arguing that the NPP has a numerical advantage over the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and can win if members close ranks.
“Looking at the figures, we have more supporters than the NDC. What we need now is unity. In 2024, many of our members stayed away from voting. If we can mobilise everyone and bring them back on board, victory is possible,” he said.
Describing the party’s rebuilding efforts as entering a second phase, Dr Bawumia urged supporters to remain steadfast and actively engage in the work ahead.
“Our mission is clear. We are now moving into phase two, and I appeal to all of you to support us in this struggle,” he added.
