Don’t Look to Bawumia for Answers – Asiedu Nketia Advises NDC Supporters

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party supporters not to place their hopes in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) or its likely 2028 presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia.

He explained that members of the ruling NDC who may feel disappointed or overlooked under the current administration should remain calm and patient instead of believing the opposition would offer better opportunities.

Speaking during his “Thank You Tour” in the East Gonja Constituency on Thursday, May 14, Mr. Asiedu Nketia maintained that Dr. Bawumia would not be able to provide anything beyond what President John Dramani Mahama and the current government are already working to achieve.

According to him, party supporters should not assume that a future government led by Dr. Bawumia would improve their conditions.

“If Dr. Bawumia becomes President, he cannot provide the solutions we need. The NDC remains our party and President Mahama is our leader. Don’t think joining queues at Bawumia’s office will solve your problems,” he stated.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia also encouraged party faithful to stay loyal to the government and support its efforts in fulfilling its mandate, stressing that party unity remains key to the NDC’s continued success.

He acknowledged concerns from some supporters who feel left out of opportunities under the current administration but advised them to remain patient and avoid turning against the party.
