1,000-Acre Land at Nsuatre Identified for Proposed New Sunyani Airport – Bono Regional Minister
The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has disclosed that about 1,000 acres of land have been identified at Nsuatre for the construction of a proposed new airport to serve the Bono Region.
According to the Minister, the land was selected after preliminary assessments indicated that the area is suitable for the development of a modern airport to enhance air transport and economic growth in the region.
The proposed airport is expected to replace or significantly complement operations at the existing Sunyani Airport, which has faced limitations in handling larger aircraft and increasing passenger traffic.
Mr. Addae Akwaboa explained that the initiative forms part of efforts by the government to improve aviation infrastructure and boost connectivity in the middle belt of the country.
He added that once the necessary approvals and processes are completed, the project will help promote tourism, trade and investment within the region and beyond.
The Bono Regional Minister further noted that the identification of the land marks an important step toward the realization of the long-awaited airport project for the region.
