Sunyani Municipal Assembly Issues Final Demolition Notice Ahead of Major Road Construction

The Sunyani Municipal Assembly has issued a final public notice to owners of structures along the SUSEC–Abesim and Adomako Junction–Watchman roads to remove their properties by Sunday, 8th March 2026, ahead of the commencement of major road construction works.

The announcement, dated 4th March 2026, forms part of preparations for the construction of the Sunyani–Abesim and Adomako Junction–Watchman roads. According to the Assembly, the deadline previously given to traders and artisans operating along the affected corridors expired on 28th February 2026.

In the notice signed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Vincent A. Agyei, the Assembly stated that the contractor is expected to move to site at any moment to begin work. As a result, all owners of containers, temporary structures, and permanent buildings situated within the project area are required to remove them before the stated deadline.

The Assembly emphasized that any structures remaining after Sunday, 8th March will be demolished to pave the way for construction.

The road project is expected to improve mobility within Sunyani, ease congestion, and enhance commercial activities along the affected routes. Authorities are therefore urging full cooperation from residents, traders, and property owners to ensure smooth execution of the project.

Residents and stakeholders have been advised to treat the notice as urgent and comply accordingly to avoid loss of property.
