The long-standing chieftaincy dispute in Sunyani between the Queen Mother, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, and the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, has officially been resolved.

The resolution followed a pivotal peace mediation facilitated by the Sunyani Traditional Council, with the involvement of Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, and the Bono Regional Chairman of the NDC, H.E. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, alongside other party executives.

Expressing his gratitude, a key participant in the mediation described the achievement as a milestone for stability and progress in Sunyani. He commended President H.E. John Dramani Mahama for his commitment and the strategic measures put in place to address chieftaincy disputes nationwide. He also praised Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim for his decisive interventions and both parties for their wisdom in prioritizing peace.

With the dispute now resolved, stakeholders believe Sunyani is poised to harness new opportunities for community development and unity.
