I Celebrated Kennedy Agyapong’s Defeat and Prayed for Delegates Who Opposed Him – Osofo Kyiri Abosom
Christian Kwabena Andrews, widely known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, founder of the Life Assembly Worship Center and a former presidential aspirant, has disclosed that he celebrated with champagne after Kennedy Agyapong lost the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer contest.
According to the outspoken clergyman, he was delighted by the outcome because, in his view, Mr Agyapong does not possess the qualities required to lead a political party, let alone govern the country as president.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Kyiri Abosom criticised Agyapong’s behaviour throughout the campaign, describing it as inconsistent with the standards expected of a national leader.
He questioned how a politician who openly accused his own party colleagues of corruption, dishonesty, and incompetence could expect to earn their trust and support to lead the nation.
“I celebrated with champagne when Kennedy Agyapong lost the presidential primary. I was overjoyed and even prayed for the delegates who voted against him,” he said. “He went around branding his own party members as corrupt and thieves. Someone who behaves like that is not suitable to be a candidate, much less president. He even called party members senseless, yet expected them to elect him to represent them.”
Kyiri Abosom praised the party delegates for their decision, commending them for rejecting Agyapong at the polls. He added that the outcome should serve as a lesson for the outspoken politician and suggested it could mark the end of his active political career.
