Sunyani Municipal Assembly Gives Sunyani Inner City Road A New Facelif
The morning sun rose gently over the quiet streets of Sunyani, casting a golden glow on a city steadily embracing progress. As residents went about their daily routines, a team of workers in reflective vests could be seen carefully painting the road medians and edges along some of the municipality’s busiest streets. It was not just another routine activity—it marked a renewed commitment by the Sunyani Municipal Assembly to make the city cleaner, safer, and more beautiful.
At the heart of this initiative stood the Municipal Chief Executive, Vincent Antwi Agyei, whose leadership has been focused on transforming Sunyani into a model municipality. With calm determination and a clear vision, he officially commenced the exercise, encouraging workers and residents alike to take pride in their environment.
As brushes moved steadily across the concrete medians and bright paint lined the road edges, the transformation became visible almost instantly. The once dull and faded medians began to shine with fresh colour, giving the roads a renewed sense of order and beauty. Motorists slowed down to watch, pedestrians paused with admiration, and many residents expressed their appreciation for the effort.
Beyond the aesthetic value, the initiative also carried a deeper purpose. Clearly painted medians and edges improve road visibility, guide drivers safely, and help reduce accidents, especially at night. For the Assembly, this exercise was therefore not only about beautification but also about promoting safety and civic pride.
Hon. Vincent Antwi Agyei emphasized that the development of a city is not measured only by big infrastructure projects but also by the small, consistent actions that make everyday life better for the people. The painting of the medians and road edges, he noted, was one of many steps the Assembly would continue to take to enhance the image and functionality of Sunyani.
As the day progressed, the bright new lines stretched further along the roads, symbolizing a city that refuses to remain stagnant. With leadership, community spirit, and a shared vision for progress, Sunyani continues to move forward- one stroke of paint at a time.
