Ghana Armed Forces Announces First Batch of 2,000 Recruits to Begin Training
The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the completion of its selection process for the first batch of recruits, with 2,000 individuals set to begin training under a nationwide enlistment programme.
In a statement issued by Veronica Adzo Arhin, the recruits have been directed to report to their respective regional selection centres across all 16 regions on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. to collect their appointment letters and prospectus.
The Military explained that this group represents the first of four batches scheduled for training as part of the ongoing recruitment exercise.
It also reassured applicants who were deferred due to treatable medical conditions during screening to seek medical attention, noting that they will be reconsidered at a later stage at no extra cost.
Additionally, the statement disclosed that the first batch includes 18 individuals who were injured during last year’s El-Wak Stadium stampede, along with five others sponsored by families of victims of the incident, in recognition of the tragedy.
The Ghana Armed Forces expressed gratitude to all 16 Regional Administrations for their support in decentralising the recruitment process in line with government policy.
Meanwhile, remaining applicants have been urged to remain patient, as further selections will be made from a pool of high-performing candidates. Special consideration will also be given to individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region who assisted in rescue efforts during last year’s helicopter crash.
