Ashanti NDC Rebuts NPP MPs’ Claims on Suame Interchange Project

The Ashanti New Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly refuted recent claims made by the Ashanti NPP MPs’ caucus, led by Asenso Boakye, regarding the Suame Interchange project.

In a video response, Abass Nurudeen, Chief Executive Officer of the Social Investment Fund (SIF) and Ashanti Regional Communications Officer, dismissed the allegations as misleading and politically motivated. He emphasized that the project is progressing as planned and that the government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the region remains unwavering.

Nurudeen also highlighted the importance of verifying facts before public dissemination, noting that attempts to politicize development projects only serve to misinform the public and undermine national progress.

“This project is for the benefit of Ghanaians, not for political point-scoring,” Nurudeen stated in the video. He urged all political actors to prioritize constructive engagement over spreading false narratives.

The video comes amid rising tensions between the ruling NPP and opposition NDC in Ashanti, with both sides seeking to control the narrative on key development initiatives in the region
