No court has cleared Dr. Sledge in MIIF probe - OSP clarifies

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has dismissed media reports suggesting that businessman Nana Yaw Duodu  popularly known as Dr. Sledge of Godridge Ghana Limited has been cleared of corruption allegations.

In a statement issued Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the anti-corruption body clarified the status of its ongoing investigation into the operations of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the OSP has not filed any criminal charges in court against Dr. Sledge. And no court has pronounced on his guilt or innocence,” the statement emphasised.

The Office noted that its probe which involves transactions estimated at about $94 million  remains active.

The clarification follows reports concerning a High Court decision related to assets belonging to the businessman. The OSP explained that in 2025 it froze vehicles valued at GH¢18 million linked to Dr. Sledge. However, the High Court declined to confirm the freezing order in January 2025.

The Office said it has since challenged that decision and taken steps to re-secure and freeze the assets. According to the statement, the assets remain frozen and under OSP protection in the public interest.

Investigators are also continuing asset-tracing efforts to identify and preserve any additional assets suspected to be tainted.

The OSP reaffirmed its commitment to completing the investigation and stated that any individual against whom sufficient evidence is established will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.
