Akufo-Addo’s Daughter Denies $25m Interchange Painting Claim, Threatens Legal Action
Daughter of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, has strongly denied resurfacing allegations that she received $25 million to paint interchanges in Accra, describing the claims as “entirely absurd and false.”
In a firm public statement issued on Friday, March 27, 2026, she said the accusation is completely baseless and insisted that no such contract has ever existed.
“Let me state, again, unequivocally and for the record: This claim is completely false.
No such contract has ever existed, been offered, or been awarded,” she said.
Gyankroma challenged those behind the allegations to provide proof, stressing that there is none.
“If any individual, media platform, or commentator is in possession of such a contract, I challenge them to produce it publicly. They will not because it does not exist.”
She clarified that her work under the Creative Arts Agency particularly the Art for All projects was independently conceptualised and funded through private sector support and personal contributions. She noted that these details have been publicly disclosed for years.
The Creative Arts advocate accused unnamed individuals and digital platforms of deliberately reviving old falsehoods to mislead the public and tarnish her image.
“The deliberate revival and spread of this fabrication, particularly across social media platforms, is a calculated attempt to mislead the public and damage my reputation.”
In response, Gyankroma announced that she has instructed her lawyers to initiate legal proceedings against those circulating the allegations.
“I have today instructed my lawyers to take immediate legal action against the individuals, platforms, and media outlets responsible for publishing and amplifying these falsehoods. I will not allow deliberate misinformation to go unchallenged.”
