70% of Mahama’s Big Push Projects to Be Completed by 2027 – Roads Minister Assures
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has announced that about 70 percent of projects under President John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push initiative will be completed by the end of 2027.
Speaking during the Resetting Ghana Agenda Tour in the Bono Region, he revealed that nearly four major road projects are currently ongoing in the area.
He stressed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is shifting away from the tradition of making promises without delivering tangible results within a four-year term.
According to him, visible progress is already being made in several locations, including Sunyani, Jinijini, and Brekum, where road construction projects are underway.
Agbodza emphasized that the government is focused on execution rather than rhetoric, assuring residents that a significant portion of the Big Push projects—across all regions—will be completed within the stated timeline.
He added that the era of unfulfilled political promises is over, noting that President Mahama intends to complete and commission the projects, with full delivery expected by mid-2028.
The minister disclosed that around 50 Big Push projects are currently in progress nationwide, while an additional 24 previously stalled projects have been taken over by the government and are being revived for completion.
Looking ahead, he assured Ghanaians that by 2028, the administration will demonstrate accountability for the trust placed in it, promising measurable results and value for public support and investment.
