‘They Worked for Power, They Deserve Jobs’ – Eric Adjei Defends NDC Foot Soldiers
Eric Adjei, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, has expressed support for members of the National Democratic Congress who have voiced dissatisfaction with the ongoing recruitment into the security services.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM that was shared on X on March 10, 2026, Mr. Adjei said party supporters, often referred to as foot soldiers, have legitimate reasons to complain if they feel overlooked after helping the party return to power.
According to him, these supporters contributed significantly to the party’s electoral victory and should therefore be considered when opportunities arise.
Mr. Adjei noted that many of them feel excluded from the recruitment process and are frustrated by what they perceive as inadequate communication from ministers and officials responsible for the exercise.
He explained that he understands their frustrations because he once experienced similar challenges while searching for employment opportunities many years ago.
He also criticised the recruitment process under the previous administration led by the New Patriotic Party, suggesting that security service recruitment at the time was extremely difficult to access.
Mr. Adjei further shared an example in which an applicant was reportedly disqualified from the recruitment process because of a dental issue, highlighting the level of frustration among applicants.
He added that he receives numerous calls and messages every day from party supporters seeking help to secure employment.
Because of this, he urged ministries and ministers responsible for the recruitment exercise to improve communication and provide clearer updates on the process.
According to him, many applicants are concerned that their applications remain pending while others have already received confirmation of acceptance, which has increased anxiety among job seekers.
